Space Cake & A Monsoon

Sunday Recap:
  • Today at the Leaf was great! Elementary kids enjoyed the surprise of a space ship cake. Thanks to Tiffany Nash for making a great cake! (Shhh...I had 3 pieces.) It was a great fit for ending our space themed series, "Starlight Station." For the past eight weeks we learned about the life of Joseph, and about being a servant leader.
  • The adult service had a tall oak tree on stage as a sermon illustration. But, elementary had a space ship cake...so we are better. (ha)
  • As you can see by the waterfall that Tommy & Jody are admiring, we had a bit of rain on our last day at Woodland High School. (Can you say monsoon?!) Our setup/breakdown crew are absolutely amazing. Driving home today, I was thinking about the setup dudes I've gotten to know over the past few months. These guys are stinking amazing. And not just cause they show up early and stay late and carry 500 pound items on & off a truck. But because they have a great huge heart. And they've become a tight nit group. It's OLC's version of men's ministry and it's rad.
  • Once again, OLC volunteers have blown me away. Everyone knows the huge task ahead as we stretch ourselves to 3 services and move back to the motherland (movie theater). Over the past several days, I've had old/current/and new volunteers STEP UP and say "count on me!" for volunteering at the movie theater. The momentum is building and I am completely stoked! Thanks everyone for making such an important investment.

The kids loved the cake! When we were saying prayers tonight Austin said a prayers thanking God for having a good last day at Woodland and asked him to make the church at the theater good.

It was a simple thing but he did it on his own...I'm proud of him!

You guys are doing a great job...even in the rain!

Yeah, I thought about the ladies who help out with setup as well...but I had to protect our pride and say only guys can pick up the heavy stuff. :-) ha

Awesome to hear about Austin! We should all be praying with child-like faith. Dude, I'm pumped. God is moving all around us, using us for His purposes, and lives (and families) are being changed.

Thanks for the encouraging words.
Rock on.
